Splash Damage, located in Greater London UK, is currently on the look-out for additional artists, programmers, and designers to work on exciting, as-yet unannounced projects.

Duration:
Mid-term contract

Job Description
Character Artist

As Splash Damage’s Character Artist, you will work closely with the Art Director and the Art Lead and be responsible for creating, establishing and maintaining high quality characters for our project.

Working with the art team to maintain a consistent quality for a range of assets
Model detailed high poly models, efficient low poly versions and create textures
Highly experienced working with normal maps, specular textures and capable of creating realistic materials
Be self motivated and demonstrate initiative

Essential Skills and Experience


Highly experienced and proficient with 3D Studio MAX or Maya, Zbrush (and/or Mudbox) and Photoshop
Strong 3d modeling and texturing skills
Strong knowledge and understanding of anatomy
Hard surface sub-d modeling
Experience of game character pipelines and efficient memory management of UVs, textures, and vertices
Substantial examples of current and past work demonstrating a strong understanding of form, silhouette, shape, texture, colour and lighting
Understanding of character preparation from modeling, rigging and skinning for animation

Preferred Skills and Experience

Knowledge of real-time shaders
Concept design/illustration including lighting or colour keys
Knowledge of rigging and skinning principles
